Call for Submissions

This year is the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Everyone remembers where they were as the morning unfolded and changed the course of history.

To commemorate this day Cape Fear Regional Theatre and the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra are producing a free-to-the-public event in Festival Park titled “Where Were You?” and we need your help. We are asking everyone in the community to tell us “Where were you?” on that morning, amidst our shared devastation, we also witnessed incredible compassion, strength and resilience. The community is invited to submit written stories (500 words or less) or short 1-2 minute videos of what they remember about that morning? Who did you turn to or reconnect with? Where did you see beauty or grace amidst the rubble? Where were YOU on the morning of September 11th?

Submissions will be reviewed by a committee and 10-15 community members stories will be filmed & featured as a part of this event. Submit to wherewereyou2021@gmail.com to be considered by Thursday, August 12th. Final selections will be made by Thursday, August 19th and filming will take place on August 22.
