About the show: Based on Roald Dahl’s novel, the world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious chocolate factory…but only to a lucky few. Five golden ticket winners embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination, including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas!

Rehearsals are from 2:00pm – 10:00pm Tuesday – Friday and various times at the weekends. We may rehearse up to 42 hours a week. Your schedule and hours will vary depending on the size of the role.
Pay ranges from $350 per week for local, non-union actors; $500 for out of state, non-union actors. This production is an AEA Tier 3 Guest Artists Agreement, and the weekly rate is $683.00 per week, plus per diem, health and pension. Housing for out-of-town artists is available.
For video submissions: All video auditions should be emailed to auditions@cfrt.org no later than 5pm on Wednesday, September 25. Videos should either be submitted via Google Drive, Dropbox, or YouTube link. Please make sure the link is viewable by anyone for easy sharing amongst the team. Please include your headshot, resume, Audition Form 2024-2025 and Charlie Conflict Calendar in the email. Virtual callbacks will be scheduled for Thursday, October 3 between 12-5pm. If we need to schedule you for a callback appointment, you will receive an email by Tuesday, September 30 at 5pm. Videos should include the requested material provided below. Reels will not be considered as a submission. One video with all materials is preferred over multiple videos.

What to prepare: Please prepare the song & sides provided for the role of your choice. Accompaniment/plunk tracks can be found here! Due to time constraints, please prepare only one role.

Grandpa Joe (male, 30-60) Charlie’s imaginative, mischievous and loving grandfather. After many years being confined to a bed, his childish energy returns when Charlie finds the Golden Ticket. Vocal range: G4-G#2

Teen & Adult ensemble (male & female presenting, high school aged and up) Looking for a diverse ensemble of adults, teens and children to play Townspeople, Reporters, Oompa Loompas, Squirrels, Bavarians, Gum Chomping Divas, and other featured characters. The roles of Grandma Georgina, Grandma Josephine and Grandpa George will come from the Adult Ensemble.
