COVID-19: An Update for our Audiences
Here at CFRT we have been closely monitoring the developments of COVID-19 and the recommendations of local and state officials. The federal government has advised against gatherings of more than 10 people, and, like theatres all over the nation, CFRT has faced numerous challenging decisions over the past few days. We have placed priority on public health and the safety of our staff, artists, and patrons, and are cancelling the remainder of the 2019-2020 season including the final week of Murder for Two, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, and Jelly’s Last Jam. These cancellations take us through May 31, and, while the situation is ever and swiftly changing, we hope to be able to reopen to the community in the summer.
As a nonprofit arts organization, CFRT relies heavily on the support of donors, subscribers, and single ticket buyers. Cancellations of this magnitude mean that we are facing significant losses, and while closed, no guaranteed income.
Our staff and their families, our facilities, and our future depend on the support of our community now.
As one of our subscribers said, “Please donate what is left of my season subscription to CFRT. You guys need to be around on the other side of this to bring our spirits up!!” We need your support now to ensure that we’re ready to open again the very moment it is safe for us to do so.
We also ask that you consider an additional gift to support CFRT staff through this time of crisis. Your donation now, in any amount, helps sustain the theatre, protect staff, and ensure our survival through this unprecedented challenge. You can donate by clicking HERE, or, a staff member would be happy to process your gift over the phone.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out either via email or phone if you have any questions. We are so grateful for your support, and on behalf of all of the members of our theatre family, we wish you health, resilience, and strength in the coming weeks.
